Lanzarote offers a surprising number of museums, many of which celebrate the history of the island and its spectacular shoreline. One of Lanzarote's most notable museums, the Canary Cetacean Museum (MCC) is a major research centre specialising in dolphins and whales, and worthy of a visit.

Other popular museums in Lanzarote include the Ethnographic Museum Tanit - which features exhibits and information about Lanzarote's earlier inhabitants, and the Museum of Canarian Emigrants at Santa Barbara Castle - housed in a breathtaking 16th-century fortress. Here are Lanzarote's main museums.
